Contentment by design - Living - Places photo #1131

I was wandering along on my walk in a somewhat absent-minded way when something caught my attention: up above my head, a pair of mushrooms had popped out of the lichen-tinged bark of a gnarled old boxelder tree. Although we have a bit dryer climate here, we do have some mushrooms, but this is the first time I've seen mushrooms growing out of tree bark like this.
A bit magical.

Contentment by design

A stylized lion seen from the side, in colors of tan, orange and burnt orange, lying on its belly with its legs stretched out. I imagine it purring. The lion has been my personal mark for this website for many years.
