Making a lamp - gluing the frame

I drill holes in the interior faces of each glue joint and join the pieces with 1/8" hidden dowels, which give the frame additional strength. With so little wood in the frame and such small gluing surface areas, this is essential to create a frame that has sufficient structural integrity.
